Seasonal Fruits - Rosehips
2nd Oct 2023
Although we’re enjoying a mild start to October, an abundance of autumnal treasures are sweeping our displays. One fruit we’re always excited to see make a comeback is rosehips. Summer’s sweet, aromatic rose petals reveal these distinctive orange-red berries from early autumn and florists can’t wait to weave them into garden-style gatherings and soaring urns alike.
This season-bridging gem marries beautifully with blousier blooms for a summer meets autumn bouquet - its rustic elegance adds a hint of wild beauty. Bundles of the contorted branches en-masse in a vase display really emphasise their incredible silhouette - creating an almost cage-like formation.
Perhaps the most recognisable rosehip is the deep orange, oval-shaped variety - however, smaller spherical fruits and even apple green berries are available and make equally stunning foliage. Some ingredients really have the ability to capture the essence of a season - and in this case rosehips really do conjure visions of crisp, sunny mornings, falling leaves, and cosy gatherings.
